TETHERING
Sonetics’ portable systems are flexible for your unique communication needs
Whether you have crew members in the field with headsets, teammates on the phone or in an office working from a computer, you can all be part of the same conversation.
What is tethering?
Tethering gives you the flexibility to add more team members to the conversation. Sonetics has three ways you can tether your portable system to expand the possibilities for how you stay connected: physical tethering, virtual tethering, and radio tethering.
How to Physically Tether ComHubs
Physical Tethering
If you want to bring two separate work teams into one conversation on the same jobsite, you can physically tether two 5-user ComHubs together using an Ethernet crossover cable. You can even expand your portable system capacity to up to 20 users if you tether 10-user hubs together. Tethering is also useful when you want to extend your team’s communication range.
Virtual Tethering
Virtual tethering allows you to connect a Bluetooth ComHub to a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, and remote crew members can call or conference in to bring separate work teams into one conversation. Tether two or more comhubs using a Bluetooth connection and cell phone reception.
Radio Tethering
Integrate a portable radio with your team communication for expanded capabilities. By tethering your handheld radio to the Sonetics ComHub, you can transmit and received beyond the private team conversation giving an additional level of connectivity.
